We view the Bible as the written Word of God and as our fundamental source for teaching and preaching God’s Truth and principles. We emphasize on rightly dividing God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15), while applying His un-changing Truth to the present generation.
We follow after the first church that was established in the New Testament by the Apostles of Jesus Christ, which was founded on the Day of Pentecost. This is plainly recorded in the second chapter of the book of Acts.
We see Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and as the express image of God. (I Timothy 3:16; Colossians 2:9). He is the source of all power, and His name is above every name (Acts 4:12). He is alive and real today as can be witnessed in the changed lives of His people at STLH.
We believe that it is the will of God for everyone to be saved in order to be with Jesus in eternity. (John 3:5). Our doctrine of salvation involves repentance, water baptism by immersion in Jesus’ name, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). These are all necessary in order for our sins to be forgiven, to be called His children, and to possess the power to live a holy life.
The Pentecostal Experience
We praise God with musical instruments (Psalm 150:3-5), sing with all our hearts (Psalm 98:4), clap and lift up our hands (Psalm 47:1, 134:2), pray together out loud (Acts 4:24), and worship God expressively (Mark 12:30; Psalm 150:4). We invite the presence of the Lord to minister to us, as we follow the leading of His Holy Spirit.
